Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Staff Accountant for our client in Raleigh, NC 27603.   Reporting to the corporate Controller, this role is a great opportunity to grow and learn and will provide exposure to virtually all aspects of the accounting department.  There is opportunity for advancement as the Staff Accountant proves capable and takes on more responsibilities.  This opportunity includes strong benefits and a flexible/hybrid schedule after training.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with various recurring accounting projects as well as ad hoc projects when requested.
• Research and advise on various tax matters including income, payroll, S&U, business property, etc.
• Assist with processing inventory job requisitions and recording month-end adjustments.
• Assist with preparation of various governmental filings (SAM renewal, government census, etc.)
• Collaborate with Controller to develop, record, and implement departmental policies and procedures, ensure compliance, and adjust as needed.
• Assist with preparation of annual labor burden calculation.
• Assist with quarterly review of general ledger.
• Assist with projected cost reviews.
• Assist with evaluating various software or other products/services to improve the Accounting department’s processing efficiency.
• Assist with preparing/posting/reviewing various journal entries to the General Ledger
• Assist with ESOP compliance, reporting, communications, etc.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Construction Industry experience preferred
• Must be a task-oriented self-starter with excellent communication skills.
• Must be positive, detail-oriented, thorough, and curious.
• Must have strong computer literacy, including strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
• A positive team player with initiative to take on additional job responsibilities.
• Excellent organization and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to multi-task and respond to changes in priorities.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.
